All accepted papers will be published on CD.

Some possible paper topics relevant to sustainable transportation include:

• innovative construction and roadway materials
• increasing use of rail for passengers and freight
• methods for energy conservation
• new institutions for governance and regulation
• alternative approaches to infrastructure design, function, and maintenance
• less environmentally harmful patterns of land use and development
• the use of ITS to manage traffic more efficiently
• improved use of financial resources
• new structures of incentives to promote sustainable practices
• new uses of transit or para transit
• citizen involvement in designing sustainable practices
• economic implications of sustainability
